Although Tsumeb mine is renowned for both excellent Wulfenite and Tennantite crystals, it is very rare to see the two together, one upon the other. However, that is exactly what this fine miniature specimen presents, with a matrix of somewhat blackened Tennantite (probably Tennantite-Zn), with one notably large (1.5 cm across) tetrahedral crystal dominating one end. Upon the Tennantite sit contrasting amber coloured tabular, to flattened bipyramidal Wulfenite crystals, the largest reaching 5 mm on edge. The surface of these Wulfenite crystals appears naturally etched with a greasy lustre. A really very unusual Tsumeb miniature from the famous John Schneider Tsumeb miniature Collection, no. 1811.
