This large miniature specimen from the famous, generations-old Weyand Collection in Tsumeb, features classic Malachite pseudomorphs after sharp, bladed Azurite crystals, the largest of which reaches over 3.5 cm in length. Although the matrix shows signs of cracking it is stable and may well be coated with one of the rarer secondary species, perhaps Gartrellite. The pseudomorphs themselves are very well-formed and display the finest quality of patternation, with silky fibrous compact sprays of Malachite seen within the surface of the pseudomorphs providing a dappled colour effect. With an appropriate stand this piece will really excel as a superb Tsumeb classic.
