One of the lesser-known mines in the Wölsendorf Fluorspar Mining District, the Roland mine at Stulln closed in 1961 and we rarely see specimens from there. This interesting cabinet-sized plate of Fluorite on Quartz comes from Arvid Pasto's worldwide Fluorite collection and presents many, mostly individual cubic crystals, of an unusual burnt-orange colour and reaching up to 1 cm on edge, sat upon a finely crystallized bed of red, Hematite-included Quartz, of the variety known as Eisenkiesel.
