This French Fluorite specimen might be small (miniature size) but its crystals are exceptionally gemmy and present a rich whisky to deep amber colour. Forming a group of four or five main crystals sat upon a small 'island' of finely crystallized white Quartz, the Fluorite crystals are overgrown on one side by small cream to orange coloured Baryte crystals. The Baryte crystals are fascinating, forming two generations: initial, larger, colourless to amber transparent crystals; followed by epitaxial overgrowth of frosted white to grey smaller crystals. The largest Fluorite crystal reaches 1.2 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm and is immaculate, with other equally bright, glossy crystals forming alongside in a group. It is from Vensat, Riom, Puy-de-Dôme in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
