From a discovery in 2024, in the far south of Peru, at Rumipata in Ichuña District, General Sánchez Cerro Province comes this really unusual heavenly blue Quartz var. Chalcedony, pseudomorphing, nobbly, stalactite-like crystals of Anhydrite. This smaller cabinet sized display specimen is entirely Chalcedony, forming a linear bed of short 'fingers'. The largest reaches 2 cm in length freestanding, but longer where it extends into the base. All trace of Anhydrite is gone, apart from the colour which it has imparted on the Chalcedony. One of the 'stalactites' is broken off, exposing subtle internal concentric banding. An interesting and unusually colourful pseudomorph.
