From a relatively new discovery in the far south of Peru, at Rumipata in Ichuña District, General Sánchez Cerro Province comes this really unusual heavenly blue Quartz var. Chalcedony, pseudomorphing a finger-like crystal of Anhydrite. Reaching 5 cm in length, this fine pseudomorph is entirely Chalcedony, like a stalactite, with small angled blocky crystals dotted all the way up its length. All trace of Anhydrite is gone, apart from the colour which it has imparted on the Chalcedony. A fascinating pseudomorph.
