This is a magnificent large and extremely showy Wulfenite specimen, but is atypical of its original recorded locality - Helena mine, Mežica (Miess), Slovenia. It appears identical to material from Stefanie mine at Bad Bleiberg, Villach-Land District, Carinthia, Austria, and for this reason has been relabelled. It is spectacular, but delicate, and so will require special collection or shipment to be arranged. The specimen forms a beautiful bowl-like broad open cavity within iron oxide-rich gossan, within which many extremely thin, glossy, resinous, orange platy Wulfenite crystals rise as freestanding and interlocking crystals. These crystals reach 1 cm on edge but just a fraction of a millimetre thick, but looked absolutely superb. Remnant Galena remains within the matrix. This is a really high quality Wulfenite from the Type Locality region in Austria. Ex Nick Hawes collection and ex Baldizzone collection.
