This interesting combination specimen features a bright ultramarine-blue, 9 mm diameter crystal spray of Vauxite upon a finely crystallized layer of Quartz studded with smaller Cassiterite crystals. Small cabinet in size, it is quite different in its presentation to the typical (but still rare) samples of this species from the Type Locality for Vauxite - Siglo Veinte mine (Siglo XX mine) - which are usually pure layers or beds of Vauxite with no matrix. Ex David Hardman Collection, this piece probably dates to the 1970s or 1980s.
