Topaz is well-known from the Brandberg Complex in the Erongo Region of Namibia but rarely is it found in such a well-defined crystal with such an interesting series of associated species. At 4 cm tall by 2.8 cm wide, this sharply terminated classic wedge-shaped Topaz crystal presents a lovely cream to pale-sherry colour and is partially transparent with characterful wispy inclusions. Although a wide fracture runs across its base it does not appear to have been repaired and is naturally held together in the rock which includes a single, terminated, small pale Smoky Quartz crystal, crystallized Feldspar, and most interestingly many small (2 to 3 mm) greenish chlorite-, or tourmaline-included bladed Stilbite-Ca crystals coating the matrix.
