The splitting of the Tetrahedrite and Tennantite groups of minerals has generated many new species as well as causing complications in labelling earlier Tetrahedrite and Tennantite specimens. Although this specimen hasn't be analysed, there is growing evidence to indicate that most of these superb, large, tetrahedral historic Tennantite crystals from Tsumeb mine are specifically Tennantite-(Zn). This excellent specimen of intergrown, dark metallic grey tetrahedral Tennantite crystals covered in micro-crystals colourless Calcite and associated with white Quartz is in extremely fine condition, and despite its rather grey colour is really rather nice. The Tennantite crystals reach nearly 2 cm.
