A striking classic from the Goboboseb Mountains in the Erongo Region, Namibia. Well-known for Sceptred Quartz crystals, usually in either Smoky or Amethystine colours, this smaller version is extremely pretty and full of character. Not only is it a Sceptre, with the classic transition from a white, Milky Quartz stem, upwards into a gemmy, transparent Smoky Quartz bipyramid on top (4.3 x 3.0 x 3.6 cm), but this Smoky crystal shows excellent development of skeletal surfaces with fascinating wispy inclusions. It is absolutely beautiful and shines very brightly under good lighting, its only slight blemish being a tiny, microscopic chip to its termination. From an older German collection, this crystal probably dates to finds during the 1980s or 1990s.
