It might seem strange, for such an important mineral locality as Tsumeb mine, but crystallized Galena specimens are actually quite rare. Indeed, this miniature sized flattish specimen is quite a rarity, featuring several spinel-twinned flattened cubo-octahedral Galena crystals in a linear arrangement with a little dispersed white Quartz. The two main Galena crystals are very well-formed and sit at opposing ends of the specimen, one reaching 1.3 cm across, the other 1 cm. Both display on either side of the piece with no obvious damage. Ex Weyand Collection.
