This beautiful miniature Fluorite specimen is from the last fluorspar mine to operate in France - Le Burg mine, near Alban, in Midi-Pyrénées. Famed for not only some of the finest Fluorite specimens in France, but Europe too, one of its iconic features is icy blue Fluorite in cubic crystals, usually aggregated together in elongated masses. This superb specimen from Le Burg mine maintains that wonderful colour, but differs slightly in having a slightly thicker sugary white Quartz matrix, with prominent isolated cubes of glassy transparent Fluorite perched upon it. Individually, the crystals reach 1.6 cm on edge and show very faint internal zonation. There is minor chipping to a couple of the corners of the main Fluorite crystals, and some very slight 'nibbling' along two edges, but for its overall display potential this is a really top-notch miniature. It sits naturally for display in two orientations.
