The famous Okorusu mine in Otjiwarongo District, Namibia is best known for its magnificent Fluorite crystals and crystal groups, many of which display wonderful colour-zoning in green and purple shades. This well-balanced cluster of very large intergrown cubic crystals is unusual in that the crystals are a cream to straw-yellow colour, but they still present fascinating internal zoning, with a discrete, but once spotted noticeable thin orange band just inside its outer edges. Reaching up to 4.2 cm on edge, the crystals are themselves very large compared to what is normally seen from Okorusu mine and sit well for display at small cabinet size. There are a few slightly cleaved corners to the Fluorite crystals and some noticeable chipping along edges, but the size and presentation of this crystal grouping is very nice indeed. The crystals are translucent, with smooth surfaces and respond well to directional lighting which picks out the internal zoning. The main crystal shows wispy inclusions at it core but is is far clearer around its outer zone. The surfaces of the Fluorite are glassy in small areas, but mostly slightly resinous in their lustre.
