The Oberdorf Magnesite mine is a famous Strontianite, Magnesite and Dolomite locality in the Laming valley, Styria, Austria. Although labelled simply as Oberdorf an der Laming, this style of crystallized Dolomite is very similar to specimens found at Oberdorf Magnesite mine in the early 2000s, but is exceptionally fine in its large cabinet size, wonderfully flowing form and perfection in quality. The whole specimen is Dolomite, as a bed over 5.5 cm in thickness and completely covered in crystals on one side. Pale pinkish-cream in colour, with a fine pearlescent lustre, and with subtly curved, saddle-shaped, classic Dolomite-style crystals to 1.5 cm on edge, this is an excellent Dolomite for display with no damage whatsoever.
