{"product_id":"tennantite-on-quartz-1","title":"TENNANTITE on QUARTZ","description":"This is an attractive, miniature-sized display of very well-formed tetrahedral Tennantite Group crystals perched upon a finely crystallized 'needle' Quartz matrix. In comparison to Tetrahedrite Group minerals, Tennantite Group minerals are much rarer in larger, display-worthy crystals, with Tsumeb mine being the exception. Although not analysed specifically, others of this well-formed habit from Tsumeb mine have been shown to be Tennantite-(Zn), so that is the most likely case here. The largest crystal reaches 1.7 cm on edge, and is nicely presented rising above the Quartz matrix. In one photo it appears to be missing one corner, but the second photo - which was taken immediately afterwards - shows the corner apparently intact and so it appears to be an optical illusion. Nevertheless, its classic 'Tsumeb-style' bevelled edges are great to see. Several other tetrahedral crystals are sat below this, much more flush with the surface of the specimen, but displaying their fine shape really well as an intergrown grouping.
