From the Příbram mining district in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, an area where Sphalerite is not often found in this colour, commonly termed “Ruby Blende”.  The crystals range from deep carmine and orangey scarlet through to black, the colour determined by the varying iron content of the Sphalerite.
