{"product_id":"pyromorphite-40","title":"PYROMORPHITE","description":"A fine, large display specimen of Pyromorphite from the Caldbeck Fells with unusually precise location information. Collected from a collapsed stope near Mexico mine at the head of Roughton Gill in the Caldbeck Fells of Cumbria in 1982 (this is probably the area often referred to as 'Barstow's trench'). A rich druse of lime green botryoidal Pyromorphite covers an area of 8 cm x 4 cm grades on the upper display surface of iron\/manganese stained sugary Quartz. The Pyromorphite forms crystalline 'bubbles' and micro-prismatic crystals grading from a waxy to matt surface. The famous Mexico mine is located at the head of Roughton Gill, a historic mining area in which all mineral collecting has long since been prohibited. This is an unusual form and colour of Pyromorphite from Roughton Gill, but was well-known from specimens found near Mexico mine. Formerly in the famous collection of Bill Creighton, it comes with an older collection label from the original collector. It will make a most impressive addition to any good Caldbeck Fells display.
