Although known for Prehnite it rarely produces high-quality display-worthy specimens like this. This small cabinet-sized specimen is from the Hettrich Collection and is a rare, extremely high quality Prehnite for Tafelkop. A single, large, 4.2 cm diameter spheroidal crystal spray sits upon a white bed of Calcite, some of which has been carefully removed to expose more of the superb Prehnite 'ball'. The peppermint-green Prehnite sphere is composed of many individual bladed crystals aligned parallel in fan-like layers. Complete all round, except for its partially hollow underside, and with no noticeable damage on its upper surfaces, this Prehnite aggregate is exceptional and presents superbly well, especially with light directed through the 'ball'.
