Like all polished sections this is designed to be viewed and studied optically, in this case with a reflected light microscope. However, polished sections like this can also be used in Scanning Electron Microscopes (SEM's) where precise chemical data can be obtained for study and identification using a microprobe. There are very few images of Kostovite available online indicating its rarity.
