A matrixless, individual stepped cubic crystal, this nicely colour-zoned blue and yellow crystal comes from the famous Le Burg mine (Le Burc mine), the last fluorspar mine to close in France, in 2006. Translucent to transparent and with a glossy, but not glassy lustre, this crystal presents three of its main cubic sides from its front view, missing one in its entirety, but gaining others from the 'stepped' edge of one side. From the rear, its yellow core is very obvious and viewed from the side the yellow and the main cornflower blue body colour contrast wonderfully well. From the front the yellow core is still evident, but more subdued, surrounded by a rich cornflower blue zone, transitioning to a paler blue outer zone.
