{"product_id":"elbaite-36","title":"ELBAITE","description":"This individual crystal of Elbaite, var. Indicolite from Usakos in the Erongo Region, Namibia is best described as a colossus. It would never be considered for cutting into gemstones, but as a crystal it is phenomenal, 10 cm tall but more strikingly, 8 cm wide, and weighing in at over 1.2 kg! Teal blue-green and with a much darker 7 mm band at its tip, it is a magnificent talking point for a Namibian tourmaline and is so tactile for handling and appreciating. There is damage to be seen, including two sizable 'bites' out from the upper termination along one side and a smaller area of chipping on the other side of the termination, but the broad, glossy, flat pinacoid termination face is stunning. Its prism sides feature prominent vertical grooves from its classic tourmaline growth-lines and a cluster of shimmering stacked Muscovite mica crystals are embedded into one side of the tourmaline crystal from its top down to nearly halfway. Although translucent to a certain extent, backlighting has little effect on this crystal, but strong directional lighting downwards into its termination creates a wonderful show of colour, with an electric blue tip passing quickly down into deep acidic green before the teal blue-green body is reached. A stunningly dramatic crystal, which probably came from the small, one-off find in 2001 at this small pegmatite deposit.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58383504376143,"sku":"CC63429","price":2231.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1011\/3748\/2063\/files\/CC63429.jpg?v=1785856113","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.co.uk\/products\/elbaite-36","provider":"Crystal Classics UK","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
