{"product_id":"duftite-on-calcite-1","title":"DUFTITE on CALCITE","description":"An icon of the famous Tsumeb mine, the sight of murky, camouflage-green Duftite coating rhombic white Calcite crystals can really only mean one locality. This small cabinet-sized specimen displays wonderfully the geopetal deposition of Duftite on preferential surfaces of the Calcite crystals, allowing the original 'way-up' position to be determined - Duftite settling upon the upwards facing crystal faces of the Calcite. The thickness of the finely crystallized coating of Duftite varies too, with thinner paler green and thicker darker green areas. The Duftite is not just a coating, but is made up of microcrystals. In great condition, this specimen is a very good size for display and has a rather shapely sculpted overall form. With Tsumeb mine having closed two decades ago, finding fine display specimens of these classic associations is getting much harder. It comes with a selection of older labels recording that it was ex Edna D. Doughty Collection (no. 1823) passing to R. Hauck in 1978. It also has a Lawrence H. Conklin dealer label from his address from 1969-2006, but which appears to have been at the earlier end, before it was acquired by Doughty.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":58383469150543,"sku":"CC63099","price":483.0,"currency_code":"GBP","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/1011\/3748\/2063\/files\/CC63099.jpg?v=1785855686","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.co.uk\/products\/duftite-on-calcite-1","provider":"Crystal Classics UK","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
