{"product_id":"cobaltoan-dolomite-6","title":"Cobaltoan DOLOMITE","description":"The beautiful pale lilac-pink colour of this Tsumeb Dolomite is reminiscent of the famous Smithsonite from Choix in Mexico but rather than showing a botryoidal form it is encrusted with sharp rhombic crystals. This colour in Dolomite is usually an indication of the presence of small amounts of cobalt within its structure but at Tsumeb Cobaltoan Dolomite is quite rare, especially in comparison with pink Cobaltoan Smithsonite, but the shape of its slightly curved rhombic crystals is clearly akin to Dolomite rather than Smithsonite and its overall appearance is very much different to the more common Cobaltoan Dolomite from the Democratic Republic of Congo. The layer of Cobaltoan Dolomite crystals continues around the side of the specimen where it meets a dark coloured, possibly sulphide-bearing, matrix.
