Aquamarine","description":"Long-known to gemmologists and gem cutters for some of the most intensely coloured Aquamarine crystals it appears that obtaining uncut perfectly-formed gem quality crystals as mineral specimens was never considered important in Vietnam, until about 2010. Then, a trickle of fine individual crystals appeared on the mineral market, but crystals on matrix remained ultra-rare, possibly because the few crystals that were being rescued were bought from gem-dealers and had already been prepared off-matrix. This stunning larger miniature specimen from Xuan Le in Thanh Hoa Province has the perfect balance of a larger (at over 5 cm in length this is a significant gem crystal from Vietnam) gorgeous aqua-blue shapely hexagonal prism with fine transparency and sat centrally through its pale cream-coloured rock matrix. The crystal has been restored, but is doubly-terminated and is so exceptionally sharp with no chipping to be seen whatsoever on its insanely glassy upper flat pinacoid crystal face. It comes with a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display base which allows it to stand perfectly for display.
