This number dropped off rapidly after the impressive finds during the late 20th century and now they are somewhat of a rarity in the world of Azurite. However, when they do turn up in older collections they tend to be extremely good. This large miniature specimen, which fits nicely into the palm of ones hand is a prime example, featuring an array of parallel-lying, super-glossy, deep blue, gemmy, sword-shaped Azurite crystals individually to 1 cm in length, but covering an area 4.5 x 3.5 cm. Under directional lighting these Azurite crystals are some of the gemmiest you will see, not only from their exceptional internal body colour and transparency, but also for their superb surface reflectivity. Lining a slightly concave piece of beige-coloured Chalcocite-bearing matrix, the Azurite crystals are for the most part extremely well-terminated, with just a few crystals missing their tips. However, these are not instantly spotted, due to the the overwhelming quality of the other groups of crystals.
