A cutely strange combination of Quartz crystals growing on plates of Quartz from the Chamonix area of France. The specimen displays a major pyramidal Quartz crystal measuring to 2.2cm across the c-axis. The crystal has grown from one side of a thin plate of drusy Quartz. The other side of the Quartz plate is covered in an array of smaller equally well formed prismatic Quartz crystals. The crystals of Quartz are partly enclosed on two sides by further thin plates of Quartz grown at an angle of approximately 130 degrees. The whole specimen is lustrous gemmy to translucent to white and very sparkling. A very pretty and unusual piece.
