A fine specimen of Chalcocite from the Tsumeb Mine - crystals of Chalcocite are a rarity from the mine. The Chalcocite crystals abundantly line a cavity measuring 3cm by 2cm. They individually measures to 0.7cm, displaying excellent twinning and striated faces. The colour is the typical deep metallic grey with high reflective luster. A single tabular crystal of possible Stolzite measuring to 3mm has formed on a Chalcocite crystal, and has a translucent brown tint. Iron oxide reddened areas of Quartz are associated with the Chalcocite, on a Sulphide matrix. A great small cabinet specimen of Chalcocite crystals, purported to have come from the 44 level in 1994.
