Shapely crystals of Cuprian Smithsonite (Copper enriched) from the Tsumeb Mine. The mine is justly famous for the variety of Smithsonite specimens it has produced over the last 120 years or so. This specimen of Cuprian Smithsonite displays sharp rhombic crystals to 0.6cm on edge, richly intergrown on a V-shaped matrix. The crystals are colour zoned alternating between light green and colourless, indicating several growth phases of Copper enrichment. The well formed crystals have grown on a thin vein of white Dolomite, covering a reddish Dolomite matrix. An aesthetic display specimen with rich colour.
