A classic crystal specimen of the Silver Sulfosalt Pyrargyrite from the classic mining area of St. Andreasberg, Germany. The Pyrargyrite forms rounded crystal groups to 2cm by 1.8cm on both sides of the specimen. The crystals have a bright light metallic grey colouration, some displaying red internal reflections typical of the species. The light coloured matrix is composed of crystalline Calcite with masses and spots of Pyrargyrite. A specimen displaying fine crystal form of Pyrargyrite, from the collection of William S. Vaux via the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia Collection.
