A classic single crystal of Elbaite from the renowned Himalaya Mine, California. The fine pink Elbaite is mostly translucent with some gemmy areas, and a high luster, featuring a thin green cap. Backlit the pink colour really glows. The Elbaite shows rehealed fractures at the crystal base, which causes the crystal to have a curved shape, which is quite typical for pegmatite formed minerals. Associated is white platy Albite, around the base and rear of the specimen, and back of the termination but this does not distract from the display front. This sizeable crystal displays well and stands on its own without support.
