A very bright specimen of Galena from the famous Nikolaevskiy Mine, Dal'negorsk, Russia. The Galena forms two groups of inter-grown bright metallic silver cubo-octahedral crystals to 1.5cm. The Galena crystals also display rounded modified edges, and some hopper development. Associated with the Galena are several lustrous black crystals of Sphalerite to 2cm. Interestingly the faces of the Sphalerite display micro-triangular crystal growth on the major faces, giving the Sphalerite a sparkling effect. Here and there are sparsely scattered crystal of light brassy crystals of Chalcopyrite to 0.7cm. The matrix for these three Sulphides is a crystalline Quartz and light brown 'Limonite'. A very fine example of what the Nikolaevskiy Mine has to offer.
