A lovely small cabinet specimen of Arsenopyrite from the classic Panasqueira Mine, Portugal. The Arsenopyrite forms a bright metallic silvery crystal, 2.4cm by 2.4cm with a bow-tie crystal habit. It has pleasingly grown on well formed terminated glassy crystals of Quartz to 4cm long. Gemmy hexagonal euhedral crystals of Apatite to 0.8cm are lightly tinted green. The specimen also has minor amounts of silvery Muscovite. All in all a pleasing combination of minerals in an aesthetic display from this classic mine.
