7th April 2013Aue Gem and Mineral Show
Location: Aue, Saxony, Germany
The finest show for collectors, held by Katrin and Peter Schlegel, in the heart of the famous mining region of Saxony in the Erzgebirge, Germany.
This one-day show attracts almost a thousand visitors each year. High quality German minerals are displayed next to a range of worldwide material from the 75 exhibitor from all over Europe who attend the show. Every year the show has a special themed exhibit.
The show is usually held on Sunday on the first weekend in April each year.

Every year the show has a special themed exhibit. This year it will be held in memory of my grandfather Fritz Schlegel. He was a great grandfather, friend and collector. He mainly collected in the Schneeberg area and discovered 8 new species. The last one he discovered was named to honour him and is called "Schlegelite" and very rare. Only a few samples are know.
